The Colours of the Cornish Coastline, EKO SS/12
It was a delight to receive a sneak peek from the team at UK based EKO of the new SS/12 collection. A wonderfully photographed collection it is easy to visualize each piece as a simple staple for casual weekends. What struck me is how utterly comfortable the clothes look, in particular the skirts and dresses. Made using organic cotton, bamboo and cashmere you can clearly see the pieces were designed to flow and effortlessly contour your body. The new collection embraces an active yet relaxed lifestyle— I can picture myself in that grey skirt shown above with very little trouble!
Founder and designer, Helen Davies, has used soft, natural fibres as a tool to create form on the body through drape and gathering details that flatter the figure and link back to the rural environment in which she grew up. She combines muted colours, such as greys & lilacs with a more colourful palette of candy pinks & blues inspired by the colours of the Cornish coastline.
Everything has been designed with comfort in mind; right down to the labelling, which is printed so that there are no labels touching the skin. The collection includes bamboo base layers of t-shirts and leggings from which to layer sculptural dresses and full skirts and adding a cashmere cover up or wrap to complete the EKO
signature style. The whole collection combines to create a capsule wardrobe with which to cocoon yourself, whilst living your busy, modern life and all its incarnations.
EKO is available online and from select retailers. International shipping is available.
